I can do this even at the last minute."

Do you have this habit when a chatty friend, colleague or even a family member, who got this juicy topic, and after which you realise the time and have to stay back or stay up late just to finish your important mission?

Do you have this thinking that you have all the time and sooner or later, you realise that you have not done your laundry or other stuffs?

Or you could even have too many things to do and you are so stress that you do abit of each all at once and got lost in between, forgetting where you have stopped. Hey! This have happened to even a very professional multi task woman.

Guess what ladies, today is a topic all about setting your priorities straight. I know, we ladies, especially working mothers have so many things in our minds and we women, are so famous for the ability to multi-task. But, how many women are complaining of so many things to do and so little time? Try to have a mini diary or handbook with you at all times. Just a small one where you can just slip into your pockets or handbag. Each morning or the night before, list down the things you need to do and number them accordingly to which is to be done first. Whenever you got a last minute task, add it in your book and rearrange the numbers again. Just like how you list down your groceries as a reminder or even to avoid overspending of unnecessary items.

If you're at work and you were given loads of things to settle, I would advised if you could just stick one very important task that you have to settle first, on your computer. Too many sticky notes on the PC can be unsightly and confusing. The rest, you can note it in your book. I know we ladies can't resist engaging into a hot conversation. But please remember your priorities, though a short quick one just to take a break is fine.

If we look at this time managing in a positive way, we can in fact control the time instead of the time controlling us. By delaying doing whatever is needed, thinking that you have all the time in the world and taking your own sweet time doing the not so important stuff is what time controlling you means. If you master the art of controlling it instead, you can finish what you HAVE to do and have the rest of the time to do what you WANT to do. Sounds good? Try to work things out and make a little difference in life. Don't let yourself catching up with time. You must learn to get ahead of it instead.

Tips for working ladies to deal with work related issues.

Are you in a company who over promise and under deliver? Are you working under a rotten boss? Are you in an aimless career path? Do you have backstabbing or busybody colleagues? Well, fret not. You're not alone. I managed to overcome through learning from experiences, read up more about such related issues. It's nothing new in a working environment. So it's all up to you to change it.

How to deal with negativity?

Try to stand firm and be positive thinkers. Do not let anyone talked into your inner self and squeeze your postive energy dry. As I read from a psychiatric doctor, to list all the people who suck you dry and try as much as you can to stay away from them. Otherwise learn to develop a strong mind to shield you from the negative talkers. Once you got this, you'll be well respect and people will take you more seriously.

How to be a likeable folk?

Whether you like it or not. Whether you may sound and look fake or not. You have to learn how to be likeable especially to your boss. Don't care what your peers might say because they don't pay your salary. Protect your own rice bowls I say. But if you want to start out, you can try this on your peers. I learn this from a book I read about subconscious mind. Work on the other party subconscious mind. Mimic her behaviours and manners. Have things in common as people always say, two people who think alike have stronger connection with each other. Don't make it so obvious that you are copying her but do try aim to get your messages across to her subconscious and trust me, this will give her a strong good positive feeling about you.

How to intimidate people around you?

People who are up against someone who is at the higher level or more knowledgeable tends to intimidates people more than anything else. We're not talking about educated and booksmarts here. It's not about whether you are able to answer the question but HOW you answer those questions. You can start by fooling people into thinking you are an introvert. Think alot, read alot, write alot. Learn to shut your mouth more often, start listening and think before you speak. Though introverts hardly say anything unless it is worth saying and are able to concentrate intensely on any task. So start building your aura of intelligence by getting rid of those silly toys, screensavers and desktops buddies and replace with serious-looking books and reference materials.

How to be and look successful?

Visualise, actualise and realise as you know what a loser is. Start doing the opposite, be more efficient and if need to sticky notes all over the PC monitor, go ahead by all means. I'm not sure if you've attended any professional image workshop but for personal experience, I've been to a professional image class conducted by a top airline groomer trainer and here a few points which I agreed on. Thinking back, even when having a normal conversation with a peer, we tend to display the ugly side of us. You can do so but do take note and be aware of your own surroundings. You may not know who is watching you. Show professionalism, in terms of working attitude, personal attitude, and of course your very own external image.

Wear the right colours of clothes and also on your face for the appropriate events. What I learn is that, to take a few minutes just to stand in front of a full view mirror and do a quick blink test. Close your eyes for a second or two and open quickly and the first thing that bothers you must go! It works so well for me. Try it.

If you don't feel like putting on a full make up, at least make an effort to apply face powder to even out the skin tone and a little colour to your lips. Never to leave the house with a bedroom face. You don't put on make up or dress up that will turn people off. Even though it's nice to see during partying or leisure but it's not a proper grooming for working. Low cuts, short tight minis and super duper high heels doesn't cut to be an example as a professional image. Even so, at least give your shoes a little heel for confidence and authority.

Organise your wardrobe according to the functions. Please start a wardrobe makeover as soon as possible if this is the main concern. I would suggest that try to invest to tailor a few good suits for important functions or meetings.

Stand up straight and walk with a confident strut. Not like as if you just deliver and please lift up that legs, don't drag your feet, not only will destroy your heels, it'll make you look lazy. When standing, do not fold your arms or hold yourself. Relax those limbs and muscles and be natural.

Avoid talking in Singlish and say in proper finished sentences.

Once you achieved this, and the lesson to be likeable, people will want to be around you. Once your boss see that, he or she may find you a threat. May only, maybe yes maybe no. Your boss will only see it as a threat if you don't acknowledge him/her as a superior. But if you master the likeable and loveable lesson, you shouldn't have this problem.

A simple start of my blog. ATTENTION TO LADIES.

Believe it or not, I set up this blog without posting anything till now. Here I am, after my daughter turned 1 (now she's 14months 20days to be exact) then I realised my blog needs a little touch. Life changed so much for my hubby and me ever since the arrival of our angel. The house turned upside down, full of energy and noise. Our household expenses and the financial needs has also increased. This actually driven my hubby and I to open our minds to more opportunity in money makings. My hubby has set his interest to read up more on Forex while I beginning to develop a strong interest in business. What business? We're still in the process but I'll update in this blog when it's ready. My interest all along has been into nail and beauty care. That will be my main trade. For the ladies in Singapore, who is interested to do manicure can contact me and I can give good negotiable price and just to inform you girls, I'm using Sally Hansen and Silky Girl ranges and I can do nail extension as well.

To say abit about me before, I was a real pain in the ass. Just ask my hubby. He almost give up on me many many times. The thought of me gonna lose him made me want to change for the better. I used to be very rebellious, stubborn, ignorant, not open to people's thoughts and ideas, rude, selfish and all the negative things you can think and NEVER thought of. My temper was the worst problem of all, especially during that 'season'. As days passed, I'm trying to control myself and not to let my sub-conscious mind taking over me. It's a good change after all, it benefit me and I know that if I were to continue my bad ways, my child will turn out to be the same, which I'm trying to avoid. So, in order to change this, I read up alot on self improvement books, which became a hobby. But one thing I can't help is that, I'm still having mood swings during the periods, which luckily my hubby understand.

To conclude it all, this is just a normal blog, to talk or even discuss ideas, in regards to personality, money makings, parenthood or business site. This blog also may be a place for me to promote my mini business which is open in Singapore only. So keep a lookout.. There may be special things which I would be announcing in here, like special sale or special rates.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://maternal-instinct.blogspot.com/2008/04/simple-start-of-my-blog.html' title='A simple start of my blog.
